Jay Shaw, Programme Director, is responsible for identifying and creating opportunities for UK manufacturers to win work in nuclear, and for growing the Nuclear AMRC business. Jay has worked at the Nuclear AMRC since 2011, and was previously head of machining for the Nuclear AMRC. He is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He started his career as an engineering apprentice, and spent over 16 years working in production engineering and machining for the aerospace, mining, medical and general engineering sectors.
John Coughlan, Director CEO and Business Leader at TSP Engineering John is an award winning leader and champion in the UK Manufacturing industry. He has held responsibility for Manufacturing and Operating performance, together with Business Development across a number of industries. John is also a Board Member of the Cumbria LEP holding the following portfolio responsibilities:- • Business Support • Advanced Manufacturing • Employment and Skills John is currently Director CEO and Business Leader at TSP Engineering, who manufacture heavy, complex engineered infrastructure for the civil and defence nuclear sectors. TSP Engineering also manufacture and refurbish steel and industrial process equipment
Neil Smart, Chief Scientist for Sellafield Ltd Neil is responsible for providing authoritative scientific advice to Sellafield Limited in support of its activities in management, packaging and disposal of radioactive waste. Previously Neil was Science Director of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority's (NDA) Radioactive Waste Management Directorate (RWMD). Prior to this he was Head of Research for the NDA's corporate research programme from 2005 to 2008. This followed various technical roles within the research and operating divisions of BNFL from 1991 to 2005.
Micheal Donnington, Submarine Dismantling Programme Manager, Babcock International Mike started working for Babcock in 2003 after he graduated from Plymouth University with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree. Mike achieved his Master of Science at Lancaster University in 2006 and obtained his Chartered Engineer status in 2009. Mike has held numerous positions in the Submarine Support area including the Facility Manager (Refuelling) where he was responsible for maintenance and upkeep of all the refuelling facilities. Mike was also appointed as the Vanguard Main Static Converter Project Manager where he was responsible for delivering a major equipment upgrade on the Vanguard Class Submarines, this was one of the largest equipment upgrades undertaken on an in-service submarine platform in the UK. Mike is currently the Programme Manager for the delivery of the Submarine Dismantling Project for Babcock and is currently on a secondment at Rosyth, Scotland where the project demonstration is underway.
